Imagina, a free application offered by Rob Baker, presents all your images in a very nice and very easy to use interface. As it provides support for a very long list of image files, it will display just about any image file you may have on your PC. Not only does Imagina display your images, it also lets you edit them – the application comes with a few image editing functions.

Imagina is compatible with the following Windows editions (at the time of writing this): XP, Vista, 7, and 8. To install the application on these Windows editions, you need to download a small executable, run it, then go through the instructions presented to you by a setup wizard. To run Imagina on the aforementioned Windows editions, you need to have DirectX 9.0c and .NET 3.0 or newer.

Imagina uses a ribbon interface which, in case you don’t already know this, means that buttons for all the functions and features are presented on a ribbon in the upper part of the interface. From the Quick Access Toolbar, in the upper left hand corner, you can choose to minimize the ribbon out of sight. And from the Style menu you can pick one of several color schemes for the interface.

During the installation process, Imagina invites you to pick the types of files you want to associate with the application. You will notice that Imagina provides support for a nice range of image and video files. This means that Imagina can display all these file types on its interface – in 2D Sweep mode, 3D Desktop, and Slideshow mode. Imagina also comes with some image editing functions: rotate, resize, crop, apply various effects.

Imagina is freeware, which means you do not have to part with your money to use it. You should consider parting with some though if you like to support its development process. Or to put it in other words, donations are appreciated. The money you give will go towards keeping the application up and running.

In a nice interface, Imagina presents all your image files and even videos.

Pros

You can easily install Imagina on your Windows PC. Hide away the ribbon, choose one of several Styles, pick the location of the Quick Access Toolbar. Imagina provides support for numerous file types: standard images, HD images, RAW images, and videos. Use Imagina to view and edit images. Imagina is freeware (consider making a donation).

Cons

None that I could think of.
